New Fraternal Year

by Ed Newell on 07/12/16

Brothers,

As your newly elected Grand Knight, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank PGK Ed Newell for his leadership and support of our council, he has left some very large shoes to fill. I appreciate your vote of confidence in leading our council, but I am only as strong as the men around me. I believe our council has a very strong future with

the officers you have elected. I would encourage each of you to congratulate this year’s officers and support them, and your council, in the many endeavors of Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism.

Looking forward, July 13th is our installation of new officers. Even if you are not an officer, I invite you and your families to join us and celebrate our immediate PGK Ed Newell and all of your newly elected officers. Installation will be held in Jaeger Hall at 7pm. Food, beverages and social hour to follow. All Knights and their families are welcome. The State Organizational meeting is July 8, 9 & 10 at the Doubletree Hotel in DTC, for more information see the Colorado State website. Also this month, we have our Corporate Communion on the 31st at the 9am mass.

Thank You

by Ed Newell on 06/16/16

As this is my last Grand Knights report  I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for letting me lead this council for the last two years. It has been a privilege to serve the Council, Parish and Community.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all our members that have sacrificed much of their time to make this council such a great success. As Members of a great council; you all should be proud of what we do and what we have been able to accomplish.
Of course we could not have accomplished what we did if it was not for my fellow officers that supported me as Grand Knight. I look forward to helping our new Grand Knight continue with the many successes we have achieved.
Again from the bottom of my heart; thanks for all you have done, all you do, and all will continue to do for the Good of the Order, Our Priests, Our Families, Our Parish, Our Community and most of all for Our Fellow Brothers.
VIVAT JESUS!

Last Quarter

by Ed Newell on 04/21/16

Brothers,
Well We Made It! The busy time of our year has passed. We are in the Home Stretch of the last quarter our our Fraternal Year. It is also the time when you get to decide who you would like to run the council for the next year. In April we ask our nomination committee to help us find officers for the next year. In May we open the floor to nominations. In June we hold elections. And in July we have installation of officers.
Our Nomination committee we be appointed at this month’s business meeting and will be led by the DGK. If you are a third degree member and would like to hold a council office position, please contact DGK Dennis Hughes.
Our next major program will be the Garage Sale in June. Donated items will start to be collected now.
State Convention is the first weekend of May. You have just a few days to get registered and I encourage you all to attend.
Thanks in advance for all your time and efforts.

2014/2015 fraternal year awards!

by Ed Newell on 07/14/15

I am extremely proud of our council and the efforts of our members and their families have put forth the past couple of months.  We have done a tremendous job of coming together for our council, the community, our parish and those who are less fortunate than us.  We contributed well over 1000 man hours to a very successful Fish Fry endeavor and almost doubled our net profit goal for the event.  We have contributed well over 150 Man Hours to our Food for Families 40 cans for 40 days food drive and by the time this newsletter is published I am sure we will have collected 8000 + pounds of food well over the 1000 pounds we were hoping for. And we had a great time at the St. Patrick’s Day Parade!

We are well on our way to achieving star council and rounding out a great last quarter of the 2014/2015 Fiscal Year.  We will be attending the Colorado State Convention in a couple of weeks and hopefully we can pull in an award or two for all our hard work.

I am looking forward to a great 2015/2016 with Elections a few weeks away and hopefully some new programs and events for you all to attend.

Don’t forget to RSVP to Steaks and Stogies this month. Hope to see you all there.

Summer Activities

by Ed Newell on 07/14/15

As we look to summer and a new fraternal year I am excited for some new programs and family events we can do. Over the next couple months our council has a break in the action. We are trying to fill the gap with some activities that our council and our families can participate in together. Some thought that came up were an early morning 14er hike and trail clean up with post hike picnic,  just a straight council family picnic,  a day at the lake BBQ with shore clean up or a council campout are just a couple ideas.

If you are interested in one of these and would like to participate/plan or have another idea you would like to suggest/plan and make happen please speak up.

The idea here is to have some fun with our Brothers and our Families this summer.

Please come forward with your ideas and action plan and let our program director and council program chair in on your thoughts.
